24/03:
Deepen Your Relationship w/ a powerful secret I personally live by...
Great relationships require effort, investment and dedication to follow through. People in general lack opportunities to learn powerful relationship skills or may have little to no guidance on how to implement them. Perhaps parents didn't stay together, or nasty fights took place on a routine basis. Regardless of the situation we do not want to mirror our parent's relationships, we may have turned elsewhere for inspiration but then received a distorted and incomplete picture of what makes a relationship work.
The ability to express appreciation toward your partner
and acknowledge them for everything they do can make all the difference. In fact, it is a POWERFUL TOOL. When you acknowledge your partner's fabulous qualities, they can't help but feel special and appreciated. When a person feels that their partner truly "gets" them, they can't help but love their partner even more. You immediately begin to make them feel like nobody else does. Remember that you have to be sincere; trying to force a connection or a particular change will only backfire on you. Try to do this as often as you can, which can be a major challenge if you are feeling angry, sad or even distant from your partner. Think of things you know your partner likes to be acknowledged for, and spoil them with special attention. If you're used to taking matters into your own hands at work and in your personal life, you might be preventing your partner from stepping in and being the man/women for you. All you have to do is drop the reins and relax. This way your partner is able to please you and DO for you - and vice versa! You are creating fresh opportunities to appreciate and acknowledge each other.
